During these astonishing days, the world as a stage is dramatic indeed! The ancient script of ultimate Truth confronting ultimate evil is unfolding swiftly in this, the denouncement of history.
In His sovereignty, Almighty YAH is moving powerfully through individual hearts and lives. Nations and institutions are being shaken as He shows His hand of mercy to the outcast and oppressed and His hand of fury to the haughty and presumptuous. His ways and timetable are always perfect, though we may misunderstand because we are not.
Among those things that the Father is redeeming and reconciling back to Himself through His Son, Jesus our Lord, are the creative arts.
Music … Dance … Theatre … the Performing Arts...Painting ... Sculpture … the Graphic & Visual Arts have long been usurped and held hostage by the enemy of God and the enemy of our souls.
The Vine Arts Collection is one tiny proclamation of the truth that art and music were created initially to give Glory and Honor to our Maker . He Who gives all creative ability waits and watches to see how we use His gift to us. … and when, if ever, we acknowledge that all we have and all we are has indeed been given.
To fellow artists, musicians, actors and writers I say: You will never be truly content until you use your abilities for the purpose for which they were originally intended. They were never designed to bring focused attention and praise to you. Any talent or gifting is, by design, an endowment to show off the beauty & variety of the glorious King and His Kingdom.
It’s a deception to think we own our talent(s); they are a trust. And if we are not using them to bring glory to Him, we are using them to self-serve and are guilty of idolatry. This is war and the Spirit-led Christian in the arts is the real revolutionary of our times!
Once released from public-pleasing, we are liberated to delight the heart of the Father, asking Him to sanctify, increase, and refine the gifts He has ordained and distributed.
Let’s allow ourselves to be drawn by Him .. to be carved ..molded .. transposed and transfigured into the expressive instruments He (from the foundations of the world) created & envisioned us to be. Whose play is it anyway ?
Are we writing the script as we go, or has the Author of Eternal Salvation already done so? The Playwright of the Universe is Our Father and the Kingdom of Heaven is a matchless source of inspiration! As the Holy Spirit freely directs the plans of the Living God, a new and true renaissance of the arts begins. HalleluYAH !
The ‘artistic temperament’- the license which creative people regularly use to exempt themselves from morality is on trial and has come up for judgment. Regardless of what secularists may do, through His people, the Lord is restoring all that belongs to Him and the Arts are His!
