Ministers and other Christians may push themselves, pull wires, and work schemes to carry out their plans, but you cannot do it. If you attempt it, you will meet with failure and rebuke from the Lord.
Others may boast of their work, of their successes, of their writings, of themselves, but the Holy Spirit will not allow you to do any such thing. If you begin, He will lead you into a deep mortification, making you despise all your good works and sorry for having boasted.
Others may be allowed to succeed greatly in making money yet God may be pleased for you to have a helpless dependence upon Him, as He supplies your needs day by day out of an unseen treasury.
The Lord may let others be honored & put forward & keep you hidden in obscurity, because He wants to produce some choice, fragrant fruit for His glorious coming Kingdom , a fruit which can only be produced in the shade, far from earthly acclaim. He may let others be great, but keep you small.
He may let others do a work for Him and get the credit for it, but He will make you work and labor on without any knowledge of what you are really doing. Then to make your work still more precious, He may let others get the credit for the work which you have done, thus enhancing your reward ten times greater when Jesus comes.
The Holy Spirit will put a strict watch over you and with a jealous love, rebuke you for petty thoughts and feelings, or for wasting your time, things that other Christians never feel distressed over.
So make up your mind that God is an Infinite Sovereign and has the right to do as He pleases with His own.
In His dealings with you, He may not explain to you many things which puzzle you, but if you abandon yourself to be His love slave, He will wrap you in a jealous love and bestow upon you many blessings which are only for those in an inner circle.
Settle it forever that the Holy Spirit is to have the privilege of tying your tongue, or closing your eyes, or staying your hand in ways He does not seem to use with others. When you are so possessed by the Living God that you are honestly pleased in your secret heart with this personal, peculiar, jealous management of the Holy Spirit over your life …and you are content with His precise guardianship over all you think and do… you will have discovered the vestibule of
                              Heaven and Victory on Earth.
Others May ....
           You Cannot
If God has called you to
really be like Jesus, He will
draw you into a life of crucifixion and humility, and put upon you such demands of obedience that you will not be able to follow or measure yourself by other Christians.
In many ways He will seem to let other people do things which He will not let you do.
