Some characteristics of SALT and LIGHT are:

  • SALT Preserves, Protects, Purifies, Irritates & Stings ( ! )
  • It can Melt, Indicate Wealth & Honor
  • And Add Seasoning, Flavor and Zest

  • LIGHT Dispels Darkness, Illuminates, Reflects Brilliance
  • Searches and Reveals, Stimulates Growth
  • Creates a Warmth and Glow & Unveils a Glimmer of Heaven
Isn’t it interesting that both Salt and Light do what they do in silence? My Heavenly Father has wondrously and mysteriously implanted in me a renewed light-heartedness and joy. And He did so in silence.  Music is simply my response. Sometimes our joy is so ‘unspeakable', it can only be laughed, or danced, or sung, or shouted from rooftops! God has no objection to our have a great time, after all He invented it!
Lastly it takes very little of either Salt or Light to radically change the surrounding environment. Darkness is vanquished by a single flame, and a whole meal becomes savory with a few sprinkles or a dash of salt. So it is with our Christian lives as we share the reality of Salvation and God’s Love for all people. I pray you will become both thirsty for His Friendship and warmed by His goodness.
LIGHTLY SALTED
The Bible command to be
SALT & LIGHT in the world has been the subject of
thousands of Christian messages.

Clearly, the LORD is Light –
“the True Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man”
( John 1 : 9) .
“God is Light and in Him there is no darkness at all.” ( John 1 : 5 )
Only to the extent that we have exchanged our dim, sin-darkened life for His, do we have any light to shine. Before we can truly be useful to the LORD, most of us experience a brokenness – the result of our own willful choices. In spite of our cracks and weaknesses, God’s restoring light shines upon us and ultimately through us.
In three of the Gospels, the disciple is cautioned about ‘losing saltiness’ and consequently a usefulness to the Kingdom. Choosing with our free will to love and obey Him according to His Word (and keeping a sense of humor) is true Gospel “Salt”.
